The Inkscape team is excited to announce the latest update to our open-source vector graphics editor, Inkscape version 1.2.5! This update brings a host of improvements, bug fixes, and new features designed to enhance user experience and expand creative possibilities. As always, we're thankful for our community's feedback and contributions that help make each update better than the last.

New Features

  • Live Path Effects (LPE) Enhancements: We've added several new Live Path Effects including 'Pattern Along Path' improvements and 'Envelope Deformation' which allows more flexibility in text and object warping.
  • Customizable Toolbars: Users can now customize their toolbars, adding or removing tools according to their workflow preferences.
  • Dark Mode Support: Inkscape now fully supports dark mode on all platforms, providing a more comfortable working environment for those who prefer it.

User Interface Improvements

  • Updated Icons: All icons have been updated to a modern flat design that scales better on high-resolution displays.
  • Enhanced Node Editing: The node tool has been refined for smoother operation; including easier selection of multiple nodes and improved handle control.
  • Dockable Dialogues: More dialogues are now dockable, allowing users to organize their workspace more efficiently.
